Apache Crown Dancers perform at a young Apache girl's coming of age ceremony, also known as the Sunrise Dance. They perform on and off throughout this religious 4 day ritual. Part of this sacred ceremony is to help clear a good path for the girl to follow into womanhood. A medicine man from their tribe creates all of their traditional headdresses. They are also referred to as Gaun Spirit Dancers.
